The Better Baby Class is proud to help families of all shapes and sizes; no matter what your family looks like or how you made it, come as you are and leave with the confidence you need to thrive in the early days of parenting.
Think your area hospital already offers something like this? Think again. The Better Baby Class is the only national curriculum newborn prep class that is standard no matter where you live. Most birthplaces create their own newborn prep class and the content varies widely from birthplace to birthplace, instructor to instructor, often showing couples how to bathe and diaper their baby, but leaving out most everything else of importance.
With the Better Baby Class, students will learn everything they need to know as new parents. You understand what will happen following the birth, why the procedures happen, and you are empowered to ask the questions that you need answers to. We provide peer-to-peer support to get breastfeeding off to the best start possible, teach the birthing mom AND her partner when they should seek lactation help, and have expert videos from an IBCLC with over 20 years experience in the field showing how to latch and giving her best tips for success.
We discuss what to expect for sleep in the first few weeks, how to sooth a fussy baby, and introduce basic babywearing skills. We talk about taking care of the birthing mom physically and emotionally, because we know that her recovery period is such an important part of everyone’s transition to parenthood. The Better Baby Class looks at the whole picture of becoming new parents and ensures that we set everyone up to thrive in those early weeks.
Attendees are given a professionally designed workbook that you take home with you as a reference. We have an online portal filled with resources: articles to read, downloads to help you organize and expert videos from an IBCLC, and a Certified Babywearing Educator. The BBC does not talk about labor. We do not compete with childbirth education classes, but rather act as the perfect complement by preparing new parents for what to expect moments after their baby is born and setting them up to thrive in their first few weeks as parents; the transition to parenthood is often really hard, but with the Better Baby Class people are armed with evidence based information, realistic expectations, and the knowledge of how to take care of the WHOLE family.
The Better Baby Class has everything you need to know.
